Greenflash is serendipity or just stupendous moments in Nature. It reminds us who we are...it connects us with the universe...
This evening on a flight from Taipei to Seoul, I unexpectedly had one of those moments....
The sun, in this northern hemisphere has a rather steep border between lightness and darkness, what I call the "rim" of light...when day becomes night....
Our flightline was right along this line. On the left side at 39,000 feet altitude, at 660 mph, was blue sky above, orange sun going down on the edge of Mother Earth....
On the right side was dark, dark grey below the wing, and nearly black above....the deep night...
Flying the rim....wow....
Greenflash is a metaphor for life....
We sometimes ride the rim of life....on our one side is the sun and the other side is darkness....we fly straight ahead through this....somehow we land...we need to stay aware and awake through the landing, because, after all, we make choices, and these are about darkness or light....
Flying that rim this evening on my way into Seoul, yes, it felt very much like life....
I want to choose the turn toward light....our pilot landed us through darkness...
Pilots are people we put our lives with for a while....but we are pilots.....we have to fly the rim and maybe land in darkness....but, oh my, do we remember the light....
