An amazing bond! Every one, I mean everyone who comes is a miracle! I mean, there are no accidental enrollments....no one gets signed up for being an international student without clear choice....day and night, clear choice. I mean, it sometimes takes pain to leave family and friends and go to a foreign land...even ones that seem friendly, like America. It takes courage. Many have never been away from Mom and Dad. Many are not sure if they will make it. Many borrow money, some break with everything they know, just to know something of a new life....
Every one of these young men and women, like brothers and sisters, is brave. They have what it takes to be an Ambassador for their country. In fact, they are. From the first minute....
The have what it takes to set an example....they do from the first minute....
They have what it takes to form new friends from around the globe...every minute of the journey...
Many see their seniors travel and come home with souvenirs and stories and pictures. They want to experience it themselves. They want to activate their own stories. They want their achievements, in scholastic work, in internships, in relationships, maybe even from fun to love. They have bravery that wants its own destiny!
America is so proud to receive its share of these pioneers. CIBU is especially proud. We assure the directors and deans of their schools that we will treasure your students here....we assure parents that your daughters and sons are our VIP's and what we stand for. You are welcome to come visit America and CIBU and them and us when you may...
Our country needs these wonderful young people. We should double our number of international students, as a foreign policy that makes us all stronger, as a national education policy that makes us stronger certainly from within our own system and what we have to offer young women and men from around the world.
The unifying bond in all our families, in all our alums, in all our students....is the love we share for our international world and what we all can do if we are brave enough to try. Those who just left home to come to CIBU....you just arrived in your family...the one here in San Diego...the one here in great California...the one here in the United States...your family that has bravery as its credo....brave enough to share and test yourself for your great future. You are not now, nor were you ever just average...you heard the call. You took the challenge. Welcome to the society of future leaders of this great world.

Putting It On the Line
Five people, all very different, have reached out and let me know something.....
One is a celebrity, amazing enough, who has just lost someone....cannot figure out what to do next....
One is a student who needs my attention to help him with his work....needs me to do what he cannot...
A third is an older woman, who has lost her loves, just has her older children....she wants me to help her be young again....
The fourth is a strong leader, who just wants my help to help someone else because I have what is needed best at this moment....
The last is a young stranger whose parent has been lost....she did not know where to go...she started running, and running, and I saw her, and she looked back and ....so I was there for her....
All these people I did not ever know before. They did not know me....until something happened. Someone reached out....someone said something....someone asked....someone shared....someone took the risk....
And all this unlocked the puzzle for each one and me too. The puzzle was silence.
Silence never speaks. Silence makes us be lost. In silence we are lost.
To be still, to listen....to watch and be quietly patient is golden. To stay silent forever is the night. It is the valley of darkness. To break the dead silence is to give life, and to receive the morning sun.
For each of these five, I am now a friend, and we stand together and dance in the sun....

Everything (Here) Is Connected...
Hay, Brazil, Japan, Taiwan, France, Canada, Denmark, Korea, Germany, China, Ireland, Australia...you guys, thanks for the greetings...let me know what you think of this, today's big message from here to you with love...
Did anybody out there see the moon and the planets all line up to form a cool new light out there? This is a magical time for us all here to see out there...
Did anybody out there ever think with a special someone that years all of a sudden, turn into months, weeks, days and moments...you want to reach out and hug, but time and distance make it not happen...
What is time and distance?
One of my most cherished on the planet said to me..."Everything here is connected...." That was about why we could not have dinner that night because the boss was also the boss' boss and also a mentor and also a true friend, and so was I, but everybody needed to respect the whole...the whole planet seemed to me so small and I just wanted to steal away with my friend for a quiet dinner...it did not happen and it was not, I guess, supposed to....but I really want some times and places where everything is not connected....where I and my friend can have that dinner...
We are all brothers and sisters of the same family. We all look to the same stars...we are all here, now...
....but, just please give me a few precious moments when things are not so all connected....I want to hold someone in the night...no one else but us knows....I want to tell a friend a deep true secret that will never be told....I want to see a deer, a tiger, a panda in the rain forest that only that one and I know....I want to go out to sea and be alone on the waves all alone, except for me and my Creator, whom I can talk to all alone...I want to experience my week all alone with my art....just to create...
Then, I want to be part of you all, part of our connected family, our trust, our group, team, our school, our nation...our world...we cannot ever be far away from our brothers and sisters...from each other...we will go away and come back, and go away again, and come back...
I realize now, I am forever connected to my community, of this planet, my nation, my city, my school, my family, my friends...forever...cannot ever leave...cherish, need this...cannot survive without...
And, I am committed in my life, from now on, to make sure to see and protect the best I can, a few moments, disconnected to everything else except what I love and cherish and maybe need a few times to be alone with...some loved ones...some secrets...some sacred discoveries in the forest, some hugs in the night...
...everything here and forever is connected....and maybe a few most precious moments will be just ours....
...for you and me...
...for you and yours....
...for me alone and you too...
...for you and me....you and me, just a few moments, all alone, to share this moment and no one else is ever connected to us....
...we know what that is...it is the universe...
...we are not alone, we cannot be...
...except for a few moments...a few precious moments...

A Nice Point in Time
Well, I was a little off in my hopes, but if the hoped-for always comes true, then what's left to hope for!
In the next day or two, the blog will hit 1000 visits...my goal was 100 blogs and 1000 visits from January 5, 2010 to July 1, 2010....OK...I am really happy, this is blog #110. But, its about quality, not quantity, right?
Like in relationships, like in life-choices of what destiny to pick...right? Quality.
But I have been saying here, it's not always up to us...we get served in life...we also choose....
This is sort of a milestone...so, let me recount some key discoveries made this year.....
This book, from this blog, gives us four great arenas of life, each one taking place numerous times in our whole life...
Events in each flash happen so fast, we may not understand until later if at all. This will now be easier...we can recognize what is happening as it is happening.....or,let's hope so!
We are supposed to give back to our life here on planet Earth....that means our art within....and we should try to see and bring out the art in others...
We have each other and more....we are not alone...
Now, a friend asked me if I would be brave and mention more of the details of what happened to me this year...
Maybe someday, but, for now, I will say, lives touch other lives, and amazing change can happen...we can be reborn and feel new energy and creativity...trace it back and it started with someone....always starts with someone...unplanned,unexpected, we allow them into our mind and heart, and they do the same and we have new beginnings....

There are no simple, neat answers for everyone....
Research does show that people across the world experience the flashes...they are real...
Most report that several times in their life, they saw remarkable, heart stopping views or scenes in Nature. Some reminded us that Nature is truly boss....volcanoes, earthquakes, hurricanes...
Most report the experience they describe as love or "in love" between 2 and 8 times in their long lives. A general definition we refer to is the feeling of "free fall", being smitten or obsessed with the other person, such that your own behavior changes and people see it. Many agree that there is less a chance for one true love, though many say they wish it were true...In fact, many report sadness and incompleteness. How many loves have people had by 30....by 40...over 50...big, classic romance still happens....
Can these loves last? Many stay on after years......sweet reunions happen....

The big opportunities are for people to join each other on the basis of real time spent....
